💡 Did you know that 360Eyes is now available in the 360Suite interface?! This was announced back in July. It's awesome, you've got to check this out!

Important Note: 360Eyes will soon move permanently to its new shiny home in 360Suite. This is scheduled for July 2024.

New Features: Core

User Experience: Launchpad "Landing Page" with BOBJ Metrics

This is the first iteration of this new enhancement.

In short, the idea is to offer you useful metrics about your environment so you can see everything in one place.

Don't worry, you can only see what you have access to. If you don't have the rights to some objects, they are not counted for you in there.

We plan to add more tiles, tiles from 360Eyes data. The ability to select which tiles you want. And more.

Updating passwords stored in tasks after a password change

You know how it is. You have 360Suite recurring tasks. You change your password in BOBJ or Active Directory, and these tasks start to fail.

Of course you can update your tasks one by one. Or use the update feature in 360Suite.

But now it is history. When you login to 360Suite, we will make sure to update your tasks automatically so you don't have to take care of this. Ever.

Edit / Rename 360Suite Tags

You now have the ability to rename 360Suite Tags. Tags are great! You should use them.

Tags are used to sort tasks into custom categories. This allows filtering existing entries in the pending, running and finished lists.

They also enable running external frequency tasks flagged by tag at task creation time.

Notification Center has been redesigned

The Notification Center has completely been redesigned.

Filtering, more information, shortcuts directly to the task and more.

API: 360Bind Export Task

You can now automate the creation of 360Bind Export Tasks using our API 🤓

Option to Automatically Update the Universes and Reports

There are so many benefits of using 360Eyes in 360Suite. One of them is the automatic update process.

360Suite will take care of:

Updating the database schema (no more need to run a CMS Job)
Updating the 360Eyes Universes and Reports

Database support of Snowflake and MS SQL with Windows Authentication

We needed a bit more time to handle these databases.

Database support is now at parity with standalone 360Eyes.zip.

Time Consuming Options Warnings

360Eyes is an amazing product. But with amazing powers comes great responsibilities 🕷

Asking 360Eyes to extract metadata may require more resources and processing time based on what you need. We labeled those that are more likely to have this kind of effect.

360View:

Recurring Instances: Bulk update of expired date (SI_ENDTIME)

Remember these recurring scheduled instances you created back then with a default expiry date of 10 years? Thinking what on earth is BOBJ thinking with having 10 years has a good default to have?

Wakey Wakey ⏰! They are now expiring soon!

We have you covered. Update the expiry date, in bulk, with 360View!

Purge the content and sub-content of BOBJ Folders

We have customers who use Public Folders for collaboration and temporary use. So they want to clean them up from time to time.

We added extra options for the Purge Folders task so you can do exactly that. Purge folders and if you want, the sub folders and their content.

Task Retries (Admin)

You now have the ability to have tasks relaunching automatically if they fail.

But the real added benefit is that when we retry a task, we only relaunch it and deal with what has actually failed. We do not reprocess what was successful.

360Cast

Export, Edit, Import 360Cast tasks

360Cast has joined this party 🥳!

Using the Detailed Documentation feature (the same way you'd do it in 360View, 360Bind and others) you can export the configuration of your 360Cast tasks to Excel. Great for documentation.

Then feel free to edit rows or even use this as a template to create new tasks from scratch.

Finally, after Importing the spreadsheet back in 360Suite, all your changes are committed at once.

Tasks Filters now support AND/OR

Filters you have with Web Intelligence may have the AND or OR operators. So far, 360Cast was only supporting AND. Not only we now support OR. You can do nested filters just like in Webi! Enjoy!

360Bind

Regression Testing between Different Live Environments

This new task is so powerful. I'll have to do it justice by having a dedicated blog and/or video for it!

Basically this will handle regression testing between different Live BOBJ Environments.

Think having different servers and:

Migrating BI 4.2 to BI 4.3
Validating a Promotion between BI 4.3 Test and BI 4.3 Prod

Create a single task.
This task will take care of exporting the reports in both the source and target environments.
Recommended validation options are selected automatically.
This same task will then continue to handle the comparison.
