Core Improvements

Choose where to store your data

The Wiiisdom Cloud Platform generates a lot of data with all the results of the executions and with the versions of your Tableau content.

Choosing where to store this data is crucial for everyone. Which is why we now allow you to choose at the first login where to store your data.

Once your choice has been made, you won't be able to change it.

For more information on how to setup your storage, please follow this knowledge base

Disable and Enable steps in a Pipeline

When running pipelines frequently, it’s important to avoid testing documents that are undergoing changes. Instead of removing them from the pipeline or halting the entire process, you can now disable or enable specific steps. To do this, select the steps you want to disable by holding Ctrl and clicking on them, then at the bottom of the designer, you will find the following options :

You can change the switch to either disable or enable your steps.

User Experience Improvements

To facilitate your use of the Wiiisdom Cloud Platform, we are always trying to improve the experience you can have on it.

We have revamped the menu, so that it is on the right, and everything can be accessed easily from here.

You now have two mode depending on your role:

Share Pipelines Results between users

Previously, you may have faced challenges in collaborating effectively as they couldn’t share the results of their pipelines, which included steps like data verification, content promotion, and user experience simulation.

To address this issue, we introduced a new feature that allow you to share your pipeline results seamlessly with others, enhancing collaboration and ensuring everyone has access to the latest data and analyses.

You now have "Shared with Me" between your pipelines and projects :

Create Pipelines with an API to Deploy or Promote content

Deploying content on Power BI or promoting it on Tableau is a regular task that often requires frequent updates to pipelines to select the appropriate objects. This manual process can be time-consuming and prone to errors, making it difficult to maintain efficiency and accuracy.

To address this issue, we have developed an API that allows you to create and update pipelines for deploying content on Power BI and promoting it on Tableau. This new capability enables you to automate the entire process, saving you time and reducing the risk of errors.

Allow Reporting on Execution Report

Your users can run multiple pipelines to test, validate, or certify their content. Monitoring each pipeline individually can be tedious and impractical. This new feature simplifies the process by providing a comprehensive overview of all pipeline activities.

We’ve introduced API Endpoints that provide all the necessary information, which can be easily imported into your preferred BI tool. These endpoints allow you to access details such as status, run time, owner, and whether content is certified or decertified.

Download the Power BI Report Template

To set up the report:

1) Enter your "Wiiisdom Cloud Platform URL" with your own tenant URL. For example: https://tenant.platform.wiiisdom.com

2) Enter your "Wiiisdom Cloud Platform Personal Access Token (PAT)" with your own PAT. For example: ef3f3fc7-bf31-4d85-ar07-fed9e434c44f.

Duplicated Row Detection

Duplicated rows in Semantic Layers tables and columns can lead to improper analytics and cause report errors. To monitor and proactively alert when this problem occurs, we introduced a new Semantic Layer Step called “Duplicated Rows.”

The pipeline execution provides a detailed report of duplications and logs the analysis results, ensuring users can easily identify and address duplicate data issues.

Improved Audit Trail For Tableau Version Management (TVM)

Identifying who performed actions on documents and what types of actions were taken, is crucial for maintaining a comprehensive audit trail.

To address this, we have added a new column in the audit trail that includes the actor of the action and the type of action performed. Additionally, we have introduced an option to export the audit trail to Excel, that you will be able to find in the top right of your page.

You will be able to have those informations for each objects available in your audit trail:

Tableau Extract Refresh Verification

Ensure your data is always up-to-date with our new feature that automatically verifies Tableau extracts have been refreshed within a user-defined period. This eliminates manual checks and custom scripts, providing accurate, timely data for better decision-making.
