Tableau: New Features
Introducing Version Control for Tableau
We are excited to announce the release of a new version control feature for Tableau in our Wiiisdom Cloud Platform, co-innovated with Tableau. This feature addresses the high community demand for robust version control capabilities, initially offering a comprehensive solution for managing Tableau workbooks, and later extending to data sources and other object types.
🔹Have you ever been in a situation where you need to roll back to an old version of a Workbook, but you lost the .twb or it's no longer available in the revision history in Tableau?
🔹Or been asked to explain the differences between different versions?
🔹Auditors asking for the history of changes over time with a documented audit trail?
These are the sorts of use cases and stories that you can now address with Version Control for Tableau in the Wiiisdom Cloud Platform.
Key Features:
✅ Maintain Compliance: Ensure your Tableau content meets regulatory standards with audit-ready reports that document changes with comments and logs.
✅ Enterprise-Grade Versioning: Designed for highly regulated organizations, ensuring compliance with standards such as SOX, HIPAA, and GxP.
✅ Automate Versioning: Modernize your governance workflows with version scanners that automate the saving of every version, saving time and maintaining control over your Tableau workbooks.
✅ Easily and Safely Restore Any Version: Compare and track changes across versions, see differences, and roll back to any previous version to undo errors or unwanted changes.
✅ Collaborate with Others: Gain visibility into each other's work and changes, fostering seamless collaboration through comments and notifications.

Dynamic Certification and Decertification of Tableau Data Sources
Enhance the management of Tableau Data Sources through our Automatic and Dynamic Certification and Decertification process. This is patent pending technology!
This feature allows users to dynamically certify, re-certify, or decertify Tableau Data Sources based on the results of a pipeline execution.
Key Highlights:
- Post-Process Option: A new post-process option "Data Sources Certification" is available at the end step of the Pipeline.
- Certification on Success: If the pipeline completes successfully and all validation steps pass, the selected Data Sources are certified or re-certified. Certification details, including a date stamp, the certifier's name, and a comment, are stored in Tableau.
- Decertification on Failure: If the pipeline fails, the selected Data Sources are decertified.
- Execution Report: The certification post-process will be documented as a step in the execution report.
This feature ensures that your Tableau Data Sources are accurately certified based on the latest validation results, enhancing data integrity and trust within your organization.
Power BI: New Features
Dynamic Certification and Decertification of Power BI Reports
Enhance the management of Power BI Reports through our Automatic and Dynamic Certification and Decertification process. This is patent pending technology!
This feature allows users to dynamically certify, re-certify, or decertify Power BI Reports based on the results of a pipeline execution.
Key Highlights:
- Post-Process Option: A new post-process option, "Report Certification" is available at the end step of the Pipeline.
- Certification on Success: If the pipeline completes successfully and all validation steps pass, the selected Power BI Reports are certified or re-certified.
- Decertification on Failure: If the pipeline fails, the selected Power BI Reports are decertified.
- Custom Visual Update: A custom visual in the Power BI Report will be updated to display the certification status, including the certifier's name and the date and time of certification or decertification.
- Execution Report: The certification post-process will be documented as a step in the execution report.
Validation Pipeline in Wiiisdom:
Power BI Report with a visual element showing the certification status
This feature ensures that your Power BI Reports are accurately certified based on the latest validation outcomes, providing a clear visual indicator of report trustworthiness and enhancing data reliability within your organization.
Validate Opening Duration for Power BI Reports
Monitor the performance and user experience validation of your Power BI reports with the new "Validate Opening Duration" feature.
This feature allows you to set a duration limit for report opening times.
During the execution of an Open Report step, if any report page takes longer to render (including data loading) than the specified duration, the status is marked as Failed.
The pipeline report will display both the set limit and the actual time taken, with clear emphasis on time-related failures to distinguish them from visual errors.
Resolved Issues
▪ Cannot start notification service on new stack because of incompatibility with postgres 16.4 & FIPS (Impact: High)
Description: New customers could not have notifications since the update of PostgreSQL on September 16th. This did not affect any previous customers.

▪ Draft Pipelines can be run via the public API (Impact: Medium)
Description: A user could start a “DRAFT” pipeline with the public API.
ID: WIIIS-1571
▪ The slicer valuation time can be overestimated (Impact: Medium)
Description: Due to some technical reason we could overestimate the slicer valuation time depending of the complexity of the page.
ID: WIIIS-1566
▪ It is possible to create a personal access token (PAT) with a blank name (Impact: Medium)
Description: User can enter a blank name for the PAT name and create it.
ID: WIIIS-1494

▪ Cannot create IDP when there is a space (Impact: Low)
Description: It is technically not possible to add an IDP whose alias has a blank space however the interface does not prevent it.

▪ When duplicating a pipeline, post processes' "on success" and "on failure" are both deactivated and disabled (Impact: Low)
Description: If you configured a task with Email Post Processor and duplicate it, the newly created task shows this processor as disabled.
ID: WIIIS-1586
▪ For the simulation journey step, the validation for sub-steps categorized as "categorical slicer" is incorrect (Impact: Low)
Description: If you do not enter any values in Simulation Step the step stills displays as valid even if it won’t be accepted.
ID: WIIIS-1578
▪ When the wildcard expression ends with a simple ~ it is not ignored (Impact: Low)
