360Bind Quick Start Guide

Introduction


This quick start guide will help you find the main 360Bind features and start using them. Once you find the feature you are looking for, if you have questions about how it works, please read its full documentation in the user guide.
If you are running product evaluation, the table below will help you take notes on your feedback.

Configure the 360Bind repository
Before the using the product, the 360Bind repository needs to be configured.
Go to Preferences page and run the 360Bind server near the bottom of the page





Fill in the configuration field with the path of the 360Bind folder:


Export first set of reports to compare

Go to the Schedule tab > Schedule Bind. Create an export task:


Select the documents to analyze:



Select the Frequency at which this export schedule will run:


Select an export category or create a new one. 

Note: a category is not related to a BOBJ category. It is simply a technical separation of documents (i.e. documents 1 to 50, documents in a given public folders, etc). Behind the scenes, it consists of a sub-folder within a project in the 360Bind repository.



Populate prompts:


Schedule the export.

Export second set of reports to compare


Go to Schedule tab > Schedule Bind.
If you compare the reports on the same environment, run again the same task:


If you compare the reports on another environment (XI3 vs. BI4, DEV vs PRD, etc.), export it to a zip file:

And import it on the other environment:


And run it:


Schedule comparison


Go to Schedule tab > Schedule Bind.
Schedule a comparison task:

Select the export category:


Select the export results:


Select the comparison options:


Select where to send the comparison results:


Schedule the comparison job.

Analyze differences

Go to Schedule tab > Schedule Bind.
Click the result link of the comparison tasks:


Analyze using Analytical Views or Report Views:



Export results to Excel:
